Toho Zinc’s Annaka smelter is located on the side of a hill 150km North West of Tokyo, Japan. Whilst the location makes it difficult to expand, many of the flows can be by gravity, the first process stage starting at the hill top.

The remains of the Pachuca processing plant still exist and continue to be used to a small extent for processing ore by the Real del Monte y Pachuca Co.

The Norzink smelter is located on a small peninsular at the head of the Sorfjord, Norway. This spectacular location benefits from plentiful local hydroelectric power.

2004

One of the largest silver mines in the hills near Pachuca is Real del Monte.  This is a map of the original ownerships of the workings. The ore was processed communally at Pachuca.

2004

Pachuca, north-east of Mexico City. The pachuca vessel for mineral processing was named after this city, the centre of a rich silver and gold producing area.
